Jack Wilshere: 'Experience key for England'

Jack Wilshere says that England will need all the experience available to them if they are to qualify for the World Cup.

Jack Wilshere has insisted that the experienced players within the England squad can help the Three Lions qualify for next year's World Cup in Brazil.

Roy Hodgson's side face Montenegro on Friday and host Poland on Tuesday, and six points from those two encounters will book their place in the tournament.

Looking ahead to the Montenegro clash, Arsenal midfielder Wilshere, who has been tipped to start the contest, has stressed the importance of having the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard alongside him.

"We know that Montenegro are not going to come at us - we are going to have to take the game to them. We are at home so that is what we would want to do anyway," he told reporters.

"When you've got players like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney - they've been there at big tournaments and qualifiers. Sometimes they've experienced bad results by they've learnt from them and that will help us."

England have failed to beat Montenegro during the three previous meetings between the two nations.
