Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that it would be possible to replace Theo Walcott if the winger decided to leave the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club are no closer to agreeing a new contract with Theo Walcott but insists that they would survive if he were to leave.

The winger has stalled on signing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium with Juventus reportedly interested in his signature, but Wenger has insisted that it will be possible to replace Walcott should he choose to leave the club.

Wenger said: "It's always important to keep your best players but if it should happen that Theo goes, we'll replace him with someone, another big name or make another big name.

"I have discussions every day with Theo Walcott, but not every day about his contract, I let his his agents do that. We are trying to get further but, at the moment, nothing else has happened."

The 23-year-old has impressed for Arsenal in recent weeks with a hat-trick against Reading and a goal in the Champions League against Schalke 04.
