Arsene Wenger: 'Thomas Vermaelen could leave Arsenal'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that defender Thomas Vermaelen could leave the club before the end of the transfer window.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the Gunners will listen to offers for defender Thomas Vermaelen.

Vermaelen has been linked with a move to Manchester United, and as Wenger ruled the Belgian out of this weekend's Emirates Cup, he admitted that the versatile defender could have made his last appearance for the North London outfit.

The Frenchman told reporters: "Thomas Vermaelen is injured but it's a possibility that he goes and if he does, we will have to replace him."

Vermaelen made just 14 Premier League appearances during the last campaign.
