Arsene Wenger open to Yaya Sanogo loan move

Arsene Wenger admits that sending Yaya Sanogo out on loan this month is an option, although he would prefer the striker to remain in England.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is open to sending striker Yaya Sanogo out on loan this month in order to gain some additional game time.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to a number of teams in recent weeks having made just five appearances for the Gunners in all competition this season.

French clubs Bordeaux and Lorient are among those said to be interested in capturing Sanogo on a short-term deal, although Wenger admits that he would prefer the youngster to remain in the English top flight.

"It's a possibility. I would prefer him to go to a Premier League club," he told reporters. "He is a goalscorer, he's not frightened and a guy who is naturally aggressive."

Sanogo, who is also said to have caught the interest of Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert, joined Arsenal from Auxerre in the summer of 2013.
