Patrick Vieira admits that Manchester City are keen to sign Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.

Patrick Vieira has admitted that Manchester City would be interested in signing Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.

The Dutch international's future at the Emirates Stadium remains unclear after a reported breakdown in talks with the club on Wednesday.

Former Arsenal captain Vieira, who now works as a football development executive at City, believes that his current employers would not be the only team interested in the 28-year-old.

"I'm not the right person to tell him what he should do but, knowing Robin, I don't think it will be only City who would like this kind of player," he told The Mirror.

"I don't think you have many talents like Robin who have just one year left on their contracts - I think there will be a lot of teams who want a signing like him."

Manchester United and Juventus are also thought to be interested in Van Persie.
