Saint-Etienne manager Ghislain Printant has indicated that he does not expect William Saliba to leave the club this summer.
After making a total of 19 appearances for the first team last season, the teenager has been heavily linked with a switch to Arsenal during the current transfer window.
However, after being unveiled as Saint-Etienne's new boss, Printant said that the 18-year-old is expected to continue representing the Ligue 1 outfit.
At a press conference, Printant told reporters: "The sale of Saliba is not an absolute necessity. There is no urgency. He is courted by clubs.
"From a sporting point of view we want to keep him next season and that's his wish too. He still has room for development. We will see. Our goal is for him to be with us again this season."
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be monitoring the situation.
