Spanish Reports: Alex Song nearing Barcelona move

Reports in Spain this morning have claimed that Arsenal midfielder Alex Song is close to finalising a move to Barcelona.

It has been claimed that Barcelona's vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu and director of football Raul Sanlleh were in London yesterday to hold transfer talks.

Those discussion were successful, with Arsenal due to receive a fee in the region of £15m, according to Sport and Mundo Deportivo.

The reports have also revealed that neither Ibrahim Afellay nor Cristian Tello will be joining the Gunners on a loan basis as part of the deal, contrary to speculation.

Song joined Arsenal from Bastia in 2005.
