Report: Joel Campbell to quit Arsenal in January

Arsenal's Joel Campbell prepares to quit the Gunners in January after becoming disillusioned over a shortage of first-team chances, according to reports.

Arsenal forward Joel Campbell is reportedly poised to quit the club in January after growing frustrated over a lack of first-team opportunities.

The 22-year-old has played just 17 minutes of Premier League football for the Gunners this season.

Furthermore, he has been omitted from the matchday squad for the club's last two games and, according to The Mirror, the Costa Rican is keen to leave this winter.

Campbell is said to have courted interest from Benfica in the summer after impressing in the World Cup, only for manager Arsene Wenger to block the move, according to the player's agent.

The youngster has started just one game for Arsenal in all competitions this season - the 2-1 League Cup defeat to Southampton in September.
