Koscielny "close" to new contract

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that defender Laurent Koscielny is poised to sign a new contract at the Emirates.

The North London outfit are believed to have opened talks with the French defender last month.

In Thursday's press conference, Wenger told reporters that the 28-year-old is "close" to agreeing fresh terms before the end of the season.

Koscielny, who moved to Arsenal from Ligue 1 side Lorient in 2010, has made 169 appearances for the Premier League club.
