Arsenal reportedly warn Jack Wilshere that he may have to accept a pay cut if he signs a new deal to remain at the Emirates beyond this season.

Arsenal are reportedly to enter fresh contract talks with midfielder Jack Wilshere but have warned him that he may have to accept a wage cut if he stays at the Emirates.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and had been tipped for the exit, but a turnaround in opportunities and form in the last month is thought to have convinced Gunners boss Arsene Wenger that he is deserving of a new deal.

The England international's current wage is thought to be around £90,000 a week, but that base pay packet is estimated to rise to the equivalent of £120,000 when bonuses are factored in.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal will offer Wilshere a new deal this month which will come with a reduction in his base salary but include more lucrative bonus clauses that could see him earn more than he does at present if he maintains fitness and produces on the pitch.

Wilshere, who has spent more than 1,000 days injured on the sidelines during his senior career, recently reaffirmed his commitment to the club and vowed to fight for a new contract.
