How much Arsenal now want for Myles Lewis-Skelly revealed with Man Utd 'still hopeful' of late deal

Arsenal have set their asking price for Myles Lewis-Skelly as interest in the teenager continues to grow.

The Gunners are prepared to sell their versatile academy graduate if a club meets their substantial valuation, with Manchester United and Chelsea interested.

However, United currently believe Arsenal's demands are too high as they continue their search for a new left-back.

According to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the Premier League champions value Lewis-Skelly at more than £50 million and remain prepared to sell if a club meets that valuation.

United are still hopeful of persuading the Gunners to lower their demands, but currently consider the asking price too high.

The 19-year-old has started Arsenal's opening matches against Manchester City in the Community Shield and Coventry City in the Premier League, strengthening the impression that he has a significant role to play under Mikel Arteta.

However, Luckhurst reports that his recent run in the team is partly linked to Martin Zubimendi's struggles and Mikel Merino's late return from the 2026 World Cup.

Arteta has publicly insisted he is "100 per cent" certain Lewis-Skelly will remain at Arsenal, but United have not completely abandoned their interest.

United's need for a new left-back is becoming increasingly obvious amid frustrations with their preferred target, Lewis Hall, who is unlikely to leave Newcastle United this summer.

Luke Shaw is entering the final year of his contract, looked shaky in the defeat to Hull City at the weekend, and his injury record continues to make relying on him a significant risk, while Patrick Dorgu can also operate further forward.

That gives Lewis-Skelly obvious appeal. He is only 19, has already proven himself in the Premier League and can also play in central midfield.

But £50m-plus is a huge price for a teenager who is still developing, especially when United have other positions that need strengthening.

Arsenal also have little reason to lower their valuation. They know United are desperate, and fellow rivals Chelsea are interested, while Lewis-Skelly remains under contract.

United may yet decide their need for a left‑back outweighs the fee, but paying more than £50 million for a player so clearly committed to his boyhood club still feels unlikely.
