Johan Djourou joins Hamburger SV on loan from Arsenal

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has joined German outfit Hamburger SV on a season-long loan deal.

The Swiss international, who spent the second part of last season on loan at Hannover, was expected to leave the Gunners on a permanent transfer this summer.

However, the centre-back, who did not make a single league appearance for Arsenal last season, has joined the Bundesliga club on loan.

It has been reported that Hamburg will have the option to purchase the 26-year-old at the end of next season.
