Chelsea have reportedly identified CSKA Moscow forward Fedor Chalov as a potential signing during the January transfer window.
While the Blues are well stocked for options in the final third, Olivier Giroud is expected to leave Stamford Bridge at the midway point of the campaign after falling down the pecking order since Frank Lampard's appointment.
As it stands, Chelsea cannot make new additions at the beginning of 2020 due to a two-window transfer ban, a punishment which the club are attempting to overturn before the end of the year.
Should they be successful, however, Sky Sports News claims that the West Londoners will make an approach for Chalov, who is said to have an admirer in owner Roman Abramovich.
The 21-year-old has contributed five goals and two assists from 16 outings in Russia's top flight this season, although he has failed to net in four Champions League appearances.
Arsenal have also been previously linked with the frontman.
