Carlos Vela says that he wants to stay at Real Sociedad, despite Arsenal having a buy-back clause inserted into the Mexican's contract.

Carlos Vela has admitted that he would like to remain at Real Sociedad beyond the end of the season.

The Mexican striker joined from Arsenal last summer with the Gunners inserting a buy-back clause into his contract, but the 24-year-old has said that he sees his future at San Sebastian.

"I am very happy here [at Real Sociedad] and would like to stay here," Vela told EFE.

"Arsenal are a big team who gave me the opportunity to play in Europe. I will always remember that, but I didn't have the opportunities that I felt I deserved."

Vela has netted 12 goals in La Liga this season.
