The Gunners were said to be hoping to land the Brazilain on a free transfer, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

However, Premium Sport reports that Milan are planning to hijack the move.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have also been linked with Bernard in the past, but the Serie A side are said to be his favoured destination.
