Nicklas Bendtner close to Sporting Lisbon move

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is expected to complete a move to Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.

It is thought that the 23-year-old will put pen to paper over the weekend on a deal worth a reported £9m.

The Dane was limited to only 17 league appearances last season and would be likely to feature less for the Gunners since the acquisition of Lille striker Gervinho.

Bendtner has spent six years at the Emirates Stadium, with one season on loan at Birmingham City in 2006.
