Atletico Madrid 'preparing to reignite interest in Lacazette'

Atletico Madrid reportedly plan to reignite their interest in Alexandre Lacazette, who is expected to leave Arsenal next summer.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly preparing to reignite their interest in Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The 30-year-old has forced his way back into Mikel Arteta's plans in recent weeks but is still expected to leave when his deal runs out in the summer of 2022.

Lacazette has since been linked with surprise moves to Manchester City and Barcelona, while Newcastle United are also rumoured to hold an interest.

However, La Razon claims that La Liga champions Atletico are also set to battle for the Frenchman's signature after they were linked with a move for him over the summer.

The report adds that Atletico have identified Lacazette as an ideal alternative to Red Bull Salzburg starlet Karim Adeyemi, who is thought to have already held talks with Real Madrid.

Lacazette has three goals to boast from nine appearances in all tournaments this season and has started Arsenal's last three Premier League matches, all of them ending in victories.
