Arsenal allegedly want David Luiz to help coax Brazilian compatriot Thiago Silva into moving to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer.

Arsenal are allegedly hopeful that David Luiz can help convince Thiago Silva to move to the Emirates Stadium.

After eight years at Paris Saint-Germain, the centre-back is available on a free transfer this summer, inevitably resulting in widespread interest in his signature.

However, the 35-year-old is said to hold an interest in moving to the Premier League, resulting in Arsenal emerging as a potential destination for the veteran.

According to Le 10 Sport, Mikel Arteta has already held talks with the Brazilian in a bid to win the race for his services.

Nevertheless, the Arsenal boss and club officials want Luiz, a former PSG and international teammate of Silva, to play a part in negotiations.

Despite speculation over his future, Luiz will spend another season in North London after penning a contract extension.
