Arsenal to give up on Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez?

Arsenal are reportedly unlikely to push through a permanent deal for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez during the summer.

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has reportedly failed to make a positive impression during his loan spell at Arsenal.

The Gunners worked hard during January to secure a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer, and Unai Emery has previously worked with the player at Sevilla.

However, according to The Sun, Arsenal are ready to send Suarez back to Camp Nou at the end of the campaign with the 25-year-old still yet to make a start for the Premier League side.

Suarez has featured for just 95 minutes across six substitute outings, and other players are currently preferred to the Spain international.

Arsenal have the option to buy Suarez for £18m, but the club are likely to prefer spending those funds on a replacement.
