Arsenal to bid for Ajax's Gregory van der Wiel?

Arsenal are planning to swoop for Ajax full-back Gregory van der Wiel, according to reports.

The 24-year-old is also a target for Newcastle United, but favours a move to the Emirates, according to The Mirror.

The Dutch international has one year left on his contract and could be available for around £7m.

Van der Wiel was part of the Dutch squad that were knocked out at the group stages of Euro 2012.
