Arsenal are reportedly still confident of agreeing a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, despite Borussia Dortmund's refusal to lower their £60m asking price.

Arsenal are reportedly still confident about completing a deal to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month despite the lack of progress in transfer talks.

Borussia Dortmund are open to selling Aubameyang before Wednesday's deadline due to a number of off-field transgressions this season, but the German club are unwilling to lower their £60m asking price.

Arsenal have reportedly seen two bids turned down by the German giants after they fell short of the club's valuation for the 28-year-old, who is desperate to join the Gunners.

However, The Mirror reports that Arsenal remain confident that they will clinch the Gabon international's signature before the end of the transfer window, even if it goes down to the wire.

Aubameyang is thought to be demanding wages of £180,000 a week on a three-and-a-half-year deal - terms Arsenal are willing to meet following the sale of Alexis Sanchez earlier this month.

However, the Gunners must first reach an agreement with Dortmund, who have insisted that they will keep hold of the striker until the summer unless Arsenal meet their asking price.
