Arsenal plan new £13.5m Yohan Cabaye bid

Arsenal plan new £13m Cabaye bid

Arsenal are reportedly planning to renew their interest in Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye today with a fresh £13.5m offer.

The Gunners had an initial bid worth around £11m turned down last week by the Magpies, who are believed to be holding out for a fee closer to £20m.

Cabaye has been left out of Alan Pardew's squads for Premier League games against Manchester City and West Ham United since learning of Arsenal's interest, with the French international thought to have his heart set on move to the Emirates.

Later today Arsenal will contact Newcastle with a second bid worth £13.5m, but will look towards other transfer targets if the offer is not accepted, according to The Times.

Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear has declared that the Gunners know what terms need to be met to make Cabaye an Arsenal player, insisting that the ball is now in their court.

Paris Saint-Germain also have a long-standing interest in the French international, but are yet to lodge an official enquiry with Newcastle for the 27-year-old.
