Arsenal join race for Joachim Andersen?

Arsenal have reportedly joined Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the race to sign Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen this summer.

Spurs are understood to have held a long-standing interest in the 22-year-old and view him as a potential successor to Toby Alderweireld, whose future at the club remains uncertain.

United are also in the market for a new centre-back this summer and have been linked with Andersen as a cheaper option than other targets such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Harry Maguire and Milan Skriniar.

However, Calciomercato reports that Arsenal are now in the running for the Dane too, having been attracted by his relatively low asking price of around £22m.

Andersen has established himself as a regular for Sampdoria and is expected to earn his first senior international call-up in the near future, having featured at every youth level from Under-16s to Under-21s.

There is also interest in Andersen from other clubs in Italy, though, with Juventus and Inter Milan thought to be monitoring his progress too.
