Arsenal reportedly have no plans to cash in on forward Emile Smith Rowe during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal will allegedly retain the services of Emile Smith Rowe ahead of next season.

On the back of contributing 10 goals and two assists in the Premier League during 2021-22, much was expected of Smith Rowe for the most recent campaign.

Instead, the academy graduate spent a large period on the sidelines through injury and failed to regain his place in the side upon his return.

The England international play just 195 minutes of first-team football spread across 14 appearances, highlighting his fall down the pecking order.

With little prospect of becoming a first-team regular under Mikel Arteta in the short term, Smith Rowe has been a name mentioned when discussing possible departures.

Arteta is keen to generate as many funds as possible to oversee strengthening in many areas of the pitch, most notably in central midfield.

In theory, the sale of Smith Rowe would generate in excess of £20m, money that would go down as pure profit in Arsenal's books as they bid to meet all FFP criteria.

Nevertheless, according to The Athletic, the versatile attacker is still part of Arteta's plans at the Emirates Stadium and will not leave this summer.

Arsenal allegedly hope that Smith Rowe will regain some sharpness while representing England Under-21s at the European Championship over the coming weeks.

Despite his unproductive season, Smith Rowe has still contributed 18 goals and 11 assists from 96 appearances in the Arsenal senior ranks.

Smith Rowe is also a homegrown talent that will help the Gunners fulfil selection criteria in the Champions League with Arsenal no longer well-stocked in that area.

Reiss Nelson would boost that part of the squad, yet it remains to be seen whether the winger is prepared to sign a new long-term contract having also remained on the fringes of Arteta's starting lineup.

Another homegrown talent in Folarin Balogun is also in line to be sold on the back of his impressive form on loan at French club Reims.
