Arsenal will reportedly demand a fee in the region of £43m if Juventus up their interest in defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Arsenal reportedly have no intention of parting ways with Gabriel Magalhaes for a fee less than £43m.

The Gunners have enjoyed a successful summer transfer window thus far with Gabriel Jesus joining the likes of Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos in making the switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta is now expected to turn his attention to the defensive third of the pitch with the North London outfit currently attempting to sign Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.

However, Arsenal may still face a fight to retain the services of key centre-back Gabriel, who is said to have an admirer in Juventus.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal would not consider parting ways with the Brazilian unless they receive an offer upwards of £43m.

Gabriel made 35 starts in the Premier League last season as his side narrowly missed out on securing a return to the Champions League.

With three years left on his contract, Arsenal are under no pressure to part ways with one of their key assets, but there is theoretically the realistic option of making a substantial profit on a player who cost £27m plus add-ons two years ago.

Furthermore, William Saliba has been added to the squad after his successful loan spell at Marseille, the Frenchman in line to challenge Gabriel and Ben White for a role in the starting lineup.

The signing of Martinez would increase competition for places in the middle of the backline, yet create a scenario where the Argentina international may be starting life at Arsenal as fourth choice.

Juventus are in the market for new central defenders this summer with Giorgio Chiellini having already left for Los Angeles Galaxy and Matthijs de Ligt being heavily linked with Chelsea.

Should De Ligt make the switch to Stamford Bridge, Juventus would have the funds to sign a world-class replacement, and the Old Lady are known to be admirers of Gabriel.

A report from the same outlet says that Juventus would like Arsenal to reignite their interest in signing midfielder Arthur, who is out of favour in Turin.

Club officials are allegedly prepared to offload Gabriel's Brazilian compatriot on a season-long loan deal in order to reduce their wage bill.

Paul Pogba is due to be announced as a new Juventus player this week, increasing the need for the Serie A club to make cutbacks elsewhere.
