Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly learn the asking price of Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Arsenal and Chelsea would reportedly have to pay between £50m and £60m if they wish to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

The 27-year-old has been unable to represent the Bees so far this season as he is currently in the middle of serving an eight-month suspension for breaching Football Association betting regulations.

Toney, who cannot return to football until January, enjoyed an excellent campaign with Brentford in 2022-23, scoring 20 Premier League goals in 33 appearances to help the Bees secure ninth place.

The one-cap England international has scored a total of 68 goals and has provided 21 assists in 124 games for the Bees since joining the club from Peterborough United three years ago.

Toney has less than two years remaining on his Brentford contract and the striker has recently been the subject of much speculation ahead of the January transfer window.

London duo Arsenal and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in Toney, who is believed to be keen to seek pastures new and test himself at a higher level.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank recently admitted that there will come a time when the club considers parting ways with Toney, but only for the right price.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, Brentford could entertain offers between £50m and £60m for Toney in 2024.

Romano adds that both Arsenal and Chelsea are well-informed about Toney's situation, with the striker having recently switched agents and joined one of the leading global agencies CAA Stellar.

It is understood that Chelsea are currently leading the race for Toney's signature, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to bolster his squad with a new centre-forward in the winter window.

The big-spending West Londoners forked out over £400m on new signings this summer, spending in excess of £80m on attacking pair Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.

While Jackson has shown signs of promise but ultimately lacked a clinical edge in front of goal so far this season, scoring just once in six appearances, Nkunku is yet to represent the Blues as he continues to recover from a long-term knee injury.

Meanwhile, Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea this summer for around £65m and he has played as both a midfielder and forward under Mikel Arteta this season, while Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are two other centre-forward options at his disposal.

The Gunners and Chelsea are not the only two clubs believed to be keeping tabs on Toney's situation, as both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United – who sold the striker in 2018 – have also been credited with an interest.
