Arsenal fightback stuns Everton

Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud score late goals for Arsenal as they come from behind to draw 2-2 with Everton at Goodison Park.

Olivier Giroud scored a last-minute header as Arsenal fought back from two goals down to hold Everton to a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park this evening.

The visitors came closest to scoring in the opening exchanges, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could only put his effort wide from the edge of the box.

However, it was Everton who broke the deadlock in the 19th minute when Seamus Coleman arrived unmarked at the back post to head Gareth Barry's cross into the roof of the net.

They should have doubled their lead moments later when Kevin Mirallas was played through on goal by Steven Naismith, before dragging his shot past the post.

On the half-hour mark, Oxlade-Chamberlain had another opportunity for the Gunners, but again he failed to find the target.

Five minutes later, it was Everton who threated the goal once more as Mirallas curled a free kick from range just past the top corner.

Giroud came on for Arsenal at half time and he should have scored within a minute of his introduction, but, after being picked out at the back post by Oxlade-Chamberlain, he lashed a volley over the bar.

The hosts then felt that they should have had a penalty when Leon Osman's strike from inside the box appeared to hit the arm of Aaron Ramsey, but the referee waved away their appeals.

Midway through the second half, Giroud had another sight of goal when he was found inside the box, but he saw his low effort kept out by Tim Howard.

In the 83rd minute Arsenal, pulled a goal back when Ramsey tapped in Santi Cazorla's low ball across the box from close range.

The Gunners pushed for an equaliser and in the final minute they scored their second of the match when Nacho Monreal 's cross was headed in by Giroud.
