Jack Wilshere: "We showed great character"

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere hails his side's character as they battled to score two late goals to beat Cardiff City to move back to the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has hailed his side's character as they scored two late goals to defeat Cardiff City at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners struggled to break down the Bluebirds in their Premier League clash, but finally got their breakthrough in the 88th minute through Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott added a second in stoppage time to secure the win.

Wilshere told BBC Sport: "We kept digging away and showed great character. Nicklas Bendnter came on and, fair play he has worked hard in training, and got the goal for us.

"The fans were brilliant, they saw us through to the end. We saw City win, Chelsea and Liverpool won and we have to keep winning. We can't worry about anyone else."

Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League with the victory.
