Arsene Wenger: 'We'll show against Man City that we're ready for the fight'

Arsene Wenger believes that taking on Manchester City on Saturday will give Arsenal a good chance to prove that they are title contenders.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his team can prove that they are Premier League title contenders when they take on champions Manchester City at the Emirates on Saturday.

The North London outfit finished seven points behind City last season, but are currently just one point adrift of Manuel Pellegrini's side as they head into the fourth league game of the campaign.

"Saturday is a good opportunity to show we have grown as a team and we are ready for the fight," Wenger said in his weekly press conference. "At home we played very well at 12.45pm. It's not about the kickoff time, it's about the performance."

Meanwhile, Wenger has refused to confirm if Danny Welbeck will be handed his Arsenal debut this weekend following his transfer deadline-day move from Manchester United.
