Arsene Wenger: 'Alexis Sanchez is Arsenal's Luis Suarez'

Arsene Wenger says that Alexis Sanchez and Luis Suarez are very similar and believes the Chilean will make as strong an impact as the Barcelona forward.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that Alexis Sanchez is extremely similar to former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez.

The Frenchman made the comparison after the Chilean's impressive start to life in the Premier League, where he has scored 14 goals in 24 appearances for the Gunners since making his £31.8m move to North London earlier this year.

Wenger believes that the two players share various similarities when it comes to their playing style, with the physicality and work rate of the South Americans prompting the comparison.

"Sanchez, he looks like he is made for the English game," the 65-year-old said, according to Goal.com.

"Sanchez has settled very quickly. But he has a kind of game that is instinctive and tough.

"They have similarities. They are South Americans, they are provoking players, and they go with the ball. They are very determined as well, both of them. They have plenty of similar attitudes."

The Gunners boss previously made a bid for the now Barcelona striker, infamously offering Liverpool £40,000,001 for Suarez when there was a £40m buy-out clause in the Uruguayan's contract.
