Danny Welbeck: 'I'm pleased to get off the mark for Arsenal'

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck expresses his happiness at getting off the mark for his new club after scoring in the Gunners' 3-0 win against Aston Villa.

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has expressed his joy at getting off the mark for his new club after scoring against Aston Villa this afternoon.

The ex-Manchester United man's goal was one of three scored by the Gunners in four first-half minutes, earning Arsene Wenger's side a comfortable 3-0 win at Villa Park.

Welbeck told reporters after the game: "I'm particularly pleased to get off the mark. It was a good team performance.

"We got behind [Villa]. We knew it would be difficult today. They had their chances but when we took our first one we looked in control of the game.

"I haven't had as many training sessions as I'd like but I am starting to get to the players a lot better."

Arsenal currently sit fourth in the Premier League.
