Sion eyeing up Alessandro Del Piero

Sion have confirmed that they are interested in signing Italy legend Alessandro Del Piero.

The Swiss side's sporting director Marco Degennaro identified the Juventus striker as a transfer target, but acknowledged that they face a battle for his signature.

"The president of my club wants to consider Del Piero, but it will be hard for him to accept, considering that he probably has offers from England or Los Angeles," Degennaro told Radio Calciomercato.

"We will think about it, but it will be very hard."

Del Piero has confirmed that he is to leave Juventus after the Serie A announced that they will not be offering him a new contract.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers are all said to be interested in holding talks with the player.
