Lukas Podolski: 'Arsene Wenger made my decision easy'

Lukas Podolski has revealed that Arsene Wenger was one of the main reasons behind his move to Arsenal.

The Gunners completed the £11m signing of Podolski last month and the former Cologne striker admits that Wenger's attitude made the decision to move easy.

Podolski told the official Arsenal magazine: "He has been a very successful coach both in Europe and around the world. This definitely helped in making my decision.

"He speaks several languages, and German in particular, which is very helpful. We have spoken to each other on the telephone a few times, which was very good and also made my decision even easier."

The 27-year-old is currently with the Germany squad preparing for Friday's quarter-final against Greece.
