Arsenal star Mesut Ozil: 'We believed in ourselves against Tottenham Hotspur'

Mesut Ozil praises his Arsenal teammates following their 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has hailed the team's attitude after beating arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez helped the Gunners to a 2-0 victory and secured bragging rights in North London.

Ozil, whose contract expires at the end of this season, has often been criticised for going missing in big games, but he put in a strong performance this afternoon.

"On the pitch, I just think about the team and myself, to give everything. Today we aimed to do everything and believe in ourselves," Sky Sports News quotes the midfielder as saying.

"I really enjoy playing with Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez. We have good quality and they are both very dangerous. Today Alexis showed his quality and I am really happy for him.

"Of course, we are happy, the fans are happy too. You see our defence is more stable and compact with Shkodran Mustafi in the side."

Arsenal have now moved up to fifth in the Premier League table.
