France manager Didier Deschamps tells his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger that he is the only one that picks the France team.

France manager Didier Deschamps has hit back at Arsene Wenger's comments regarding Abou Diaby's national selection by stating that he is the only one that decides who plays for France.

After Diaby was injured in Arsenal's defeat to Chelsea last weekend, Wenger hit out at Deschamps by claiming that he contributed to the injury by selecting him for France's previous matches when he had only just returned to action after a year's absence.

However, Deschamps dismissed Wenger's outburst by telling reporters: "I want to remind him [Wenger] that I am the only one that will decide who will be picked and how long those who are picked will play."

Deschamps took over as France's national team manager from Laurent Blanc in July.
