Chelsea's Christian Pulisic has tested positive for coronavirus and will therefore miss Sunday's Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The attacker was on the scoresheet in his side's 2021-22 league opener against Crystal Palace last weekend but has not been pictured in training with the Blues since Tuesday.

Speaking during Friday's pre-match press conference, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed that the United States international would be absent against the Gunners due to a positive coronavirus test.

"Christian has, unfortunately, had a positive test and needs to follow the protocols. He's not been training and is not available for the game," Tuchel told reporters.

According to football.london, Pulisic was informed of the test result on Wednesday morning and immediately went into self-isolation.

Chelsea will be attempting to make it back-to-back wins at the start of their new Premier League season when they travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on the Gunners.
