Nicklas Bendtner unhappy with lack of first-team football

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner admits that he is unhappy at the lack of first-team football he is receiving at the club.

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has admitted that he is unhappy at the lack of first-team football he is receiving at the club.

Bendtner has made just 12 appearances for the Gunners so far this season, with Olivier Giroud and now Yaya Sanogo above him in Arsene Wenger's pecking order.

The 26-year-old, who almost left the club in the summer, made no secret of the fact that he wants to be more involved in first-team duties and believes that he is training well enough to warrant a chance.

"If you can find a footballer who says he is happy to sit and watch and not play, then I think he needs to find a different job. I want to play, there is no doubt in my mind," Bendtner told reporters.

"I am fit and ready, am training well. That I am not selected is up to the manager, it is not up to me. All I can do is train well, which is what I am doing. If the manager chooses differently, then that is up to him."

Bendtner is part of the Denmark squad that will face England in a friendly on Wednesday.
