Arsenal to fine Nicklas Bendtner following Copenhagen incident

Bendtner to be fined for Copenhagen trip

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that striker Nicklas Bendtner will be fined for travelling to Copenhagen without receiving permission from the club.

Reports in the Danish media claimed this week that the out-of-favour forward threatened a taxi driver while on a drunken night out.

It was also reported that Bendtner unbuttoned his trousers and rubbed himself up against the car before whipping the vehicle with his belt.

In Friday's press conference, Wenger revealed that he will be fined, but has not yet spoken to the 26-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The Frenchman sad: "Honestly, I don't really know what happened."

Bendtner has been an Arsenal player since he joined the club's youth system in 2004.
