Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is delighted to have been named in the Team GB squad for this summer's Olympic football tournament and believes that Stuart Pearce's team have a good chance of being successful.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has spoken of his excitement at being chosen to compete in this summer's Olympic Games.

The 21-year-old Welshman, who was named in Stuart Pearce's 18-man squad earlier today, believes that Great Britain have a strong chance of claiming a medal in the event for the first time in 100 years.

"Playing in the Olympics will be a great experience and I am looking forward to it so much," Ramsey told the Gunners' official website. "It's fair to say that this could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"I haven't played under Stuart Pearce before so that is something to look forward to as well. And looking at the squad of players we have I think we have a lot of quality in there. Now we need to work together over the next few weeks and get an understanding of each other.

"If we do that then I'm sure we can do well, especially with home advantage. It will be a good experience and a different experience to play in the Olympics, being part of a British team and playing alongside some of the English players too."

Ramsey was one of three Wales internationals named in Pearce's squad, along with Neil Taylor, Joe Allen, Ryan Giggs and Craig Bellamy.
