Half-Time Report: Cesar Azpilicueta puts Chelsea ahead

A first-half goal from Cesar Azpilicueta gives Chelsea a 1-0 lead over Arsenal in the Capital One Cup.

Chelsea have a 1-0 lead at half time in their Capital One Cup clash with Arsenal this evening.

Ryo Miyaichi looked to create a chance for the hosts inside the opening five minutes, but Gary Cahill was able to block his cross, following a run down the right-hand side from the Japanese winger.

Kevin de Bruyne tested Lukasz Fabianski with a powerful strike from 20 yards out, but his shot went straight to the Arsenal keeper.

Jose Mourinho's men broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, as Cesar Azpilicueta took advantage of a mix up from Carl Jenkinson, who headed back towards Fabianski, allowing the Spanish international to sneak in and slide the ball into the back of the net.

Nacho Monreal had a chance to level five minutes later, winning the ball from the Chelsea goalscorer before breaking into the penalty area and driving the ball just wide.
