Arsenal's Henrikh Mkhitaryan could miss rest of season through injury

Mkhitaryan could miss rest of season

Arsenal forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan could reportedly miss the remainder of the season due to the injury he sustained during last night's Europa League clash with CSKA Moscow.

The Armenian suffered a knee problem during the 4-1 win against the Russians and, according to The Mirror, the extent of the damage could be worse than initially feared.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger previously confirmed that Mkhitaryan will miss this weekend's Premier League clash with Southampton, but the latest reports suggest he could be out for as long as six weeks.

Mkhitaryan, who joined Arsenal from United during the January transfer window, has been a key part of the Gunners' Europa League campaign this season.

The playmaker has racked up four goals and seven assists since arriving at the Emirates Stadium.
