Arsenal have confirmed that Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny has sustained ligament damage to his left ankle.
The 25-year-old picked up the injury when facing West Ham United over the weekend, and the club have since revealed that they hope that the midfielder will appear for the Gunners again before the end of the campaign.
"We are hoping that Mo will [be] available for Arsenal again this season and we are keeping in regular contact with the Egyptian Football Association," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The midfielder was injured just before half time during Sunday's 4-1 home victory over West Ham United. Further updates will be made in due course."
Arsenal will be taking on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday.
