Arsenal injury, suspension list and return dates for Southampton: William Saliba, Jurrien Timber updates

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with Southampton.

Virtually assured of a third successive second-placed finish in the Premier League, Arsenal head to St Mary's Stadium to battle Southampton on Sunday in their final encounter of the season.

Mikel Arteta's men erased any lingering doubt over their place in the top five last weekend, edging out Newcastle United 1-0 on home soil thanks to another sumptuous strike from Declan Rice.

The Gunners therefore need just one point to be absolutely sure of the silver medal, before preparations begin for another busy summer of spending as Arteta aims to transform his team from also-rans into all-conquering champions.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the relegated Saints, who are gearing up for a swift return to the Championship.

William Saliba

Possible return date: Unknown

William Saliba came off at half time against Newcastle due to a hamstring injury, one that will keep him out of action for a few weeks, but he is expected to be fit and firing in time for the start of pre-season.

Jurrien Timber

Likewise, Jurrien Timber will miss the final game of the season after undergoing surgery on an ankle problem, but there is hope that he will be ready in time for Arsenal's first competitive game back.

Gabriel Jesus still has a long road ahead of him as he battles back from January's severe ACL injury, one that may keep him out of action for the rest of the calendar year.

Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Fellow Brazilian Gabriel Magalhaes picked up a season-ending hamstring issue against Fulham at the start of April, and there is optimism that he will have fully recovered by the time pre-season gets underway.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Possible return date: Unknown

On the other hand, Takehiro Tomiyasu's serious knee injury will keep him in the treatment room for several more months, and there is a chance that he will not play again before 2026.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match, as Mikel Merino is back from the one-game ban he served in the win over Newcastle.
