Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Arsenal injury, suspension list vs. Palace

Arsenal will be looking to make the perfect start to their 2022-23 Premier League campaign when they travel to Selhurst Park on Friday night to take on Crystal Palace.

The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League last season, narrowly missing out to Tottenham Hotspur in the race for fourth position.

Mikel Arteta's side have made five new signings during the summer market, including Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, and they will be looking to challenge for the top four once again in 2022-23.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Patrick Vieira's side, who finished 12th in the table last season.

Fabio Vieira

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Foot Possible return date: August 5 (vs. Palace)

New signing Fabio Vieira has been nursing a foot injury that he picked up while representing Portugal Under-21s, and he is a major doubt for Arsenal's first match of the new Premier League campaign.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: August 5 (vs. Palace)

Kieran Tierney recently returned to first-team training, as he bids to recover from a knee injury, and the Scotland international has a chance of being in the squad against Palace on Friday.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: August 5 (vs. Palace)

Emile Smith Rowe has recently been carrying a muscular problem, but he is expected to be in the squad against Palace unless he suffers any setbacks in training ahead of the contest.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: August 5 (vs. Palace)

Takehiro Tomiyasu struggled with a number of injury problems last season, but the defender is making progress in his bid to return to full fitness, and he could be involved against the Eagles.
