Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United

Arsenal injury, suspension list vs. Man United

Arsenal seek to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2023-24 Premier League season when they host Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta's troops dropped points for the first time this season last weekend, drawing 2-2 with the 10 men of Fulham despite efforts from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka.

Prior to that four-goal stalemate, the Gunners had achieved slender victories over Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, leaving them two points worse off than leaders Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the Red Devils, who fought back from 2-0 down to see off Forest 3-2 last time out.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: September 16 (vs. Everton)

Following social media speculation over a possible training injury, the Ghana FA confirmed on Saturday that Thomas Partey had picked up a groin problem, which will render the midfielder unavailable for the next couple of weeks.

Eddie Nketiah

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: September 9 (vs. Man United)

Eddie Nketiah was reported to have suffered a knock to the knee in last weekend's draw with Fulham, but the striker is not believed to be nursing a serious issue and should be passed fit for Sunday's blockbuster battle.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

While Nketiah should be passed fit, the same cannot be said for Jurrien Timber, who will spend several months working his way back from the ACL injury he sustained on the opening weekend of the season.

Mohamed Elneny

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Completing a trio of knee-related injuries, Mohamed Elneny is yet to make his comeback from the operation he underwent in January, and it will be a little while longer before he is deemed matchday ready.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match, as Takehiro Tomiyasu returns from the one-game ban he served against Fulham following his red card versus Palace.
