Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League match at home to champions Manchester City.

Arsenal host the champions of England on Sunday afternoon as they welcome Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium looking for back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since August.

The Gunners finally ended a nine-match winless streak across all competitions with victory over West Ham United on Monday night, and they followed that up by coming from two goals down to earn a draw against Standard Liege on Thursday which puts them through to the next round of the Europa League.

It is still only one win in 11 games for Freddie Ljungberg's side, though, and they will hope to improve that record against a Man City team that could be 17 points off the pace by the time they kick off.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Nicolas Pepe

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Man City)

Nicolas Pepe finally showed signs of why Arsenal paid a club-record fee for him against West Ham, but any momentum from that was slowed by a bruised knee, which kept him out against Standard Liege. The winger will be given a late fitness test ahead of this weekend's match.

Dani Ceballos

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 21 (vs. Everton)

Dani Ceballos is on the road to recovery following a hamstring injury and is expected to return to training in the coming days, but Sunday's match will come too soon for him.

Rob Holding

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Manchester United)

Rob Holding has suffered bruising to his knee and will not return to training for another fortnight or so, meaning that he may not be back in action until the turn of the year.

Granit Xhaka

Status: Out
Type of injury: Concussion
Possible return date: December 21 (vs. Everton)

Former captain Granit Xhaka has been ruled out of this weekend's game after suffering concussion against West Ham, but he should be ready for next weekend's showdown with Everton.

Hector Bellerin

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Man City)

Hector Bellerin felt a twinge in his hamstring during the warm-up for the West Ham game on Monday and subsequently missed the midweek trip to Belgium. The Spaniard will be assessed prior to Man City's visit.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Kieran Tierney is set for another spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder against West Ham, with the full-back expected to miss up to three months with the problem.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match, but Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Matteo Guendouzi, Xhaka and Calum Chambers are all one booking away from a ban.
