Mohamed Salah's record vs. Arsenal

Ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at Mohamed Salah's record against the Gunners.

Fourth meets fifth in Saturday's Premier League fixture at Anfield, as Liverpool welcome Arsenal to Merseyside in the evening.

The Reds will seek to avoid being usurped by their upcoming opponents and are also aiming to recover from their 3-2 defeat at West Ham United just before the international break.

Hotshot Mohamed Salah failed to make the net ripple in that game for Liverpool, but the Egyptian has enjoyed plenty of success against Arsenal in the past.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at Salah's record against the Gunners.

Salah only found the back of the net twice for Chelsea before leaving the club, but one of those goals came in a 6-0 thrashing of Arsenal in the 2013-14 season, as he came off the bench to round off the scoring on the day.

The ex-Roma man would immediately return to haunt Arsenal following his transfer to Liverpool, bagging a goal and assist in a 4-0 win at Anfield in August 2017 before scoring in a 3-3 draw at the Emirates later that season.

Salah would be thwarted in a 1-1 draw in North London in November 2018 but was in inspired form when the Gunners paid a visit to Anfield a couple of months later, scoring one and setting up another in that 5-1 success.

The 29-year-old also netted two of his side's goals in a 3-1 win at Anfield at the start of his side's title-winning 2019-20 season, but he was on the losing side against the Gunners for the first time at the Emirates after the crown was already in Liverpool's possession.

Salah would also fail to register during last season's 3-1 win at Anfield but scored the Reds' second in a 3-0 success at the Emirates, which saw his side complete a league double over the Gunners for the first time since his 2017 arrival.

Liverpool and Arsenal have also locked horns in the Community Shield and EFL Cup during Salah's time at Anfield, but he failed to contribute in either one of those defeats which he played in.

In total, Salah boasts nine goal contributions from nine Premier League games against Arsenal (seven strikes, two assists), and he has come out on the winning side six times in that sequence.

Four of Salah's goals and both of his assists have come during encounters at Anfield, where the home crowd will certainly harbour hopes of the wing king repeating his old tricks against Arsenal once more.
