Arsene Wenger says that Arsenal need to qualify first for the Champions League last 16 and then think about winning Group B.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his primary objective in the Champions League at the moment is to qualify for the last 16.

The Gunners will head into their home game against French champions Montpellier second in Group B with seven points from four matches.

"We do it step by step," said Wenger. "First of all we want to qualify, then try to top the group. Let's just win the game.

"It is important on the back of the Tottenham game (a 5-2 home win) that we put in another good performance and show a resolute attitude. If we produce a quality performance then we will win the game.

"[Beating Tottenham] was an important win and it's a good basis to build on and go to the next game with a stronger belief, even more united and more determined to play our game."

Montpellier are at the bottom of the group with just one point from four matches.
