Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben denies spitting at Arsenal's Bacary Sagna

Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben denies spitting at Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna during last night's clash in the Champions League at the Emirates.

Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben has denied spitting at Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna during last night's Champions League round-of-16 tie at the Emirates.

A video circulated on social media of the Dutchman appearing to spit at Sagna while he was on the ground during Bayern's 2-0 triumph.

However, Robben, who led to Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Sczcesny's sending-off during the game, has insisted that he did no such thing.

"I will never spit on a player in my life," Robben told Bild. "It was sweat that dripped from my head. If I would have spat I had not have come home."

Arsenal will have to try to overturn their deficit at the Allianz Arena next month.
