Arsenal injury, suspension list and return dates for PSG first leg: Thomas Partey, Mikel Merino, Ben White

Partey pooper, Merino latest: Arsenal injury, suspension list for PSG clash

Bidding to replicate their triumph over the Ligue 1 champions from several months ago, Arsenal host Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their mouthwatering Champions League semi-final on Tuesday evening.

Mikel Arteta's men unexpectedly annihilated holders Real Madrid in the last eight to surge into the semis, following up a tremendous 3-0 home win with a statement 2-1 triumph at the Bernabeu.

The Gunners will have also had ample time to recover from their 2-2 Premier League draw with Crystal Palace in midweek, but their fleeting title hopes will officially be over if Liverpool avoid defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with PSG, who lost their Ligue 1 Invincibles status to Nice in a shock Friday night defeat.

Mikel Merino

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: April 29 (vs. PSG)

Mikel Merino could not contribute to the draw with Palace due to an unspecified problem, but it is not one that is expected to impact his availability for the first leg.

Ben White

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: April 29 (vs. PSG)

Similarly, Ben White was left out of the squad in midweek owing to a knee concern, but the Englishman is also anticipated to recover in time for Tuesday's game.

Jorginho

Status: Out Type of injury: Chest Possible return date: Unknown

On the other hand, former Champions League winner Jorginho will not be involved against PSG, as the chest injury he picked up against Brentford could end both his season and his Arsenal career ahead of a likely summer exit.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Gabriel Jesus is now three months into his recovery from a devastating ACL tear, but he still has a long road ahead of him and could be in the treatment room until 2026.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Gabriel Magalhaes's hamstring issue is not quite as serious, but the Brazil international will nevertheless miss the rest of the season as he works his way back from an operation.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Takehiro Tomiyasu has only made one substitute appearance this term due to two separate knee problems, the latter of which required a major operation to treat, and he could also be missing for the rest of 2025.

Kai Havertz

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Southampton)

Kai Havertz is ahead of schedule in his recovery from hamstring surgery and is pushing to return to action before the campaign is over, but he will not be available for either leg with PSG.

Riccardo Calafiori

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: April 29 (vs. Paris Saint-Germain)

Riccardo Calafiori is finally on the cusp of returning from the knee injury he sustained during the most recent international break, and there is a slim chance that he will be part of the squad for the first leg, but he will be in no place to start.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Thomas Partey

Return date: May 3 (vs. Bournemouth)

Thomas Partey needlessly got himself booked at the Bernabeu and received an earful from Declan Rice, who was seemingly aware that the Ghana international had just got himself suspended for the first leg of the semi-finals.
